Professional Development at CSS

All of CSS professional counselling staff have tertiary qualifications and are provided with additional internal training to meet best practice standards and the accreditation standards of the American Association of Suicidology. Our trainers all have professional qualifications, clinical knowledge and Cert. IV in training and assessment.

CSS has internal procedures in place for monitoring counsellor well-being and skill levels, and responding to training needs throughout the organisation.

All counsellors are required to participate in training on topics including:

  • Healthy Relationships: Communication, Conflict & Counselling
  • Mental Health Issues — Perceptions, Illness and Service Structure
  • Self Care & Counsellor Wellbeing.
Additional training is offered on specialist topics by external trainers as required
