Australia Post recognises that employee health and wellbeing is a key factor in improving business by enhancing productivity and attendance levels. The introduction of Australia Post MensLine in 2005 added another dimension to Australia Post’s corporate health and wellbeing program.
The specialised, telephone counselling service provides anonymous, confidential support for Australia Post employees and aims to support staff by promoting work-life balance, and healthy work and family relationships. The service is available nationally from Monday to Friday between 9am to 9pm EST. After this time, the service diverts back to MensLine Australia, giving Australia Post a 24-hour service.
Almost half of the calls to Australia Post MensLine are from callers aged between 35 and 44 years. A survey of more than 90 per cent of respondents suggested that the service was useful for men working at Australia Post.
